Mona Sabet has spent a career spanning over 25 years at the vanguard of the technology industry. Leveraging her technical, legal and business background, Mona works with B2B technology companies through their early and growth stages, shaping their corporate strategy to help pave their way to successful outcomes, from acquisitions to IPOs. She is the co-author of Sail to Scale: Steering Startups Clear of Mistakes from Launch to Exit (August 2024), a business book for startup and scaling leaders, equipping them with the tools needed to avoid the cycle of repeating past errors and instead chart a course toward lasting success in any business environment.
Mona has held a number of executive roles at B2B technology companies. She currently serves as SVP, Strategy, Projects and Operations at GCG. Her previous roles include Chief Corporate Development and Administration Officer at VulcanForms, Chief Corporate Strategy Officer at UserTesting, and Corporate Vice President at Cadence Design Systems (NASDAQ: CDNS).
At VulcanForms, she orchestrated alignment among business operations, commercial activities and overarching financial objectives, aligning its corporate strategy with external positioning and internal operational planning. She also led investor relations, performed market analysis and lead special projects and analysis in support of growth initiatives and operational efficiency.
During Mona’s four year tenure at UserTesting, she built the corporate development, partnerships and legal teams from the ground up, secured the first set of technology partnerships for the company, closed a number of acquisitions, helped lead the company’s $100M funding round, and took the company public on the New York Stock Exchange. Mona negotiated UserTesting’s acquisition, valued at $1.3B, by Thoma Bravo and subsequent merger with a Thoma Bravo portfolio company.
As Corporate Vice President at Cadence Design Systems (NASDAQ: CDNS), Mona rebuilt the corporate development team, led multiple acquisitions, and ran strategic transactions and venture investments, delivering tens of millions of dollars in incremental revenue. Mona has also been an operator in two early-stage startups: Coverity (acquired by Synopsys) led the market in automating the identification of software vulnerabilities; Viblio pioneered automated tagging of user generated videos using machine learning and computer vision.
Mona's leadership extends beyond the C-suite, serving on boards and advisory boards for startups and organizations that support them, including Berkeley SkyDeck, Western Morrissette Entrepreneurship, Harvest Management Partners, Lorica Cybersecurity, and Taiga Robotics. She often advises companies on market identification, global expansion, data and privacy, and acquisition considerations.
In addition to her corporate leadership, Mona is a passionate visionary and inspires others to play a bigger game. She co-founded ChIPsNetwork.org, a global community for women in tech, law, and policy. She also founded and continues to lead HiPower, a vibrant community of leaders championing executive women poised to shape the future of technology and beyond.
